Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Engineer with 1012 years of hands-on experience in backend engineering, architecture, AI systems integration, and telephony infrastructure.

You will take complete ownership of the engineering and delivery lifecycle for AI-powered Speech and Voice products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance. This role is ideal for an experienced technologist who enjoys building large-scale, real-time systems and collaborating with AI/ML, Product, and DevOps teams to deliver production-grade voice AI solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and lead development of scalable backend platforms for AI voice and messaging agents.
  • Integrate CPaaS platforms and telephony systems (Asterisk, FreeSWITCH).
  • Build real-time streaming pipelines connecting ASR (speech recognition), TTS (text-to-speech), and LLM (natural language generation) components.
  • Lead a small backend engineering team while collaborating with AI scientists and cloud engineers.
  • Oversee deployment, monitoring, and optimization of voice AI systems on AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Implement best practices for CI/CD, observability, and API governance.
  • Drive architecture discussions and long-term technology strategy aligned with product goals.

What You Bring

  • 1012 years of backend development experience (Node.js, Python, or Go) with strong architecture and design skills.
  • Proven expertise in real-time systems, microservices, WebSockets, and message brokers (Kafka, Redis Streams, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with telephony protocols (SIP, RTP) and CPaaS platforms; exposure to Asterisk/FreeSWITCH is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of integrating AI/NLP components LLMs, ASR/TTS engines, and vector databases.
  • Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and observability in production systems.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD toolchains.
  • Proven track record of delivering end-to-end AI/Voice solutions in live environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Agentic AI frameworks or orchestrating autonomous AI agents.
  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and RAG architectures.
  • Knowledge of real-time analytics and performance monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
