Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant - Mainframe

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting Mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS. You will also leverage your experience in Java and related technologies to support modernization and integration initiatives. This role demands strong analytical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Perform impact analysis and provide estimates for development and enhancement tasks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Mainframe systems with Java-based applications.

  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment activities.

  • Provide production support and resolve issues within defined SLAs.

  • Document technical solutions and maintain knowledge repositories.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Hands-on technical experience in developing Mainframe solutions using technologies including COBOL,DB2,JCL.

  • Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent programming and debugging skills.

  • Excellent problem solving & Analytical skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Mainframe to Java migration or integration projects

  • Experience in Java, Spring Boot, or related technologies.

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and CICS web services.

  • Good working knowledge of Relational Databases.

  • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
