Principal, Business Development – India Region
As Principal, Business Development, you will lead and drive the growth of Unispace's client pipeline across the India region. You will act as a senior commercial leader responsible for identifying, developing, and converting high-value opportunities across design-build and workplace projects.
This is a strategic, client-facing role focused on shaping regional growth, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue performance across the India market.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute the India business development strategy, including pipeline development, forecasting, and opportunity conversion
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key industry sectors in India
- Drive end-to-end ownership of the sales pipeline from lead generation through to conversion
- Ensure consistent achievement of regional revenue and growth targets
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, developers, and corporate occupiers across India
- Act as a senior point of contact for strategic client discussions and opportunity development
- Develop long-term client relationships to support repeat business and account growth
- Strengthen Unispace's presence and reputation within the India market
Pipeline Management & Conversion
- Manage CRM discipline and ensure accurate tracking of pipeline activity
- Monitor conversion rates and identify opportunities to improve win performance
- Conduct opportunity qualification and ensure alignment with business priorities
- Support bid strategy and positioning for key pursuits
Market Insight & Strategy
- Monitor India market trends across corporate real estate, workplace design, and construction sectors
- Provide insights to support pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
- Identify emerging sectors and clients for business expansion
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, strategy, and delivery teams to shape winning proposals
- Ensure smooth handover from business development to delivery teams post-win
- Collaborate internally to strengthen proposal quality and win probability
Performance & Commercial Ownership
- Own pipeline development and revenue contribution targets for the India region
- Maintain disciplined forecasting and reporting of opportunity stages and conversion rates
- Support pricing discussions and commercial structuring of deals
About You
- Proven experience in business development, client acquisition, or commercial leadership roles
- Strong understanding of the India corporate real estate, design-build, or construction market
- Demonstrated success in winning and converting high-value clients
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills at senior level
- Commercially driven with strong negotiation and closing capability
- Confident working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing CRM systems and structured pipeline reporting
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across internal delivery teams
