Principal BizOps Engineer
Dynamic Yield's Next Edge BizOps team is looking for a Principal Bizops Engineer to help us solve problems, build our CI/CD pipeline, and lead DevOps automation. Roles and Responsibilities
As a Lead Biz Ops Engineer, you'll be the production readiness steward for our platform. Your key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with developers to design, build, implement, and support technology services.
- Ensuring operational criteria like availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, and deployment automation are implemented.
- Leading the DevOps transformation by advocating for change and standards.
- Supporting daily operations with a focus on triage and root cause analysis.
- Shifting left to be more proactive in the development process and proactively managing production activities to maximize customer experience.
- Managing risk and compliance across all environments.
- Streamlining and standardizing support activities and centralizing interactions with partners.
- Aligning product and customer priorities with operational needs and providing feedback for customer experience improvement.
- Improving the lifecycle of services from design through operation, including ITSM analysis.
- Maintaining services by monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
- Scaling systems sustainably through automation and driving reliability improvements.
- Supporting the CI/CD pipeline and leading DevOps best practices.
- Practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
- Taking a holistic approach to problem-solving during production events.
- Collaborating with a global team and mentoring junior resources.
Skills and Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
- Strong problem-solving skills, communication, ownership, and drive.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
- Experience handling difficult situations and making urgent decisions with various stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
- Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Appetite for change and pushing automation boundaries.
- Mandatory experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
- Desired experience in designing and implementing efficient CI/CD flows from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort.
