Job Title: Principal Analyst, ATR

Location: Bengaluru

Reporting to: Manager, ATR

Purpose of the role

The Fixed Assets & Leases Senior Analyst is responsible for end-to-end Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting activities within the Account-to-Report (ATR) tower. The role ensures accurate capitalization, depreciation, lease accounting, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls (SOX/MICS), while partnering with business, CapEx owners, and auditors in a global shared services environment.

Key tasks & accountabilities

Fixed Assets Accounting & Close

  • Perform end-to-end Fixed Assets accounting including asset creation, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, impairments, and write-offs
  • Execute month-end close (MEC) activities for Fixed Assets in line with close calendars
  • Ensure accurate depreciation runs and analyze variances
  • Validate capitalization in line with accounting policies and thresholds

Lease Accounting (IFRS 16 / ASC 842)

  • Perform lease accounting activities including lease setup, ROU asset and lease liability accounting
  • Post monthly lease-related entries (depreciation, interest, remeasurements)
  • Support lease modifications, term reassessments, and data validation
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 / ASC 842 requirements

Reconciliations & Controls

  • Perform FA and lease sub-ledger to GL reconciliations
  • Investigate and clear reconciling items within defined SLAs
  • Ensure adherence to SOX/MICS controls with complete audit documentation
  • Support balance sheet reviews and risk assessments

CapEx, CWIP & Governance

  • Monitor CWIP balances and ensure timely capitalization
  • Partner with Projects and Procurement teams to validate asset classification
  • Support asset tagging and physical verification activities

Reporting, Audit & Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare Fixed Assets and Lease schedules for management and statutory reporting
  • Support internal and external audits and provide audit evidence
  • Coordinate with onshore finance, controllers, and business stakeholders

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Support process standardization, automation, and system improvements
  • Maintain SOPs and control documentation
  • Participate in ERP / S/4HANA related initiatives

Qualifications, Experience, Skills

QUALIFICATION

  • B.Com or Finance degree (mandatory)
  • 35 years of experience in Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, or General Accounting
  • Experience in GBS / Shared Services environment preferred
  • Exposure to audits and internal controls (SOX/MICS)

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-8 years Previous work experience in field of Fixed Assets, accounting, reporting or audit
  • Experience in working with SAP/ERP
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.);
  • Experience in working in a multi-national environment is a plus
  • Experience in working in a process-oriented organization is a plus
  • Shared Services experience is a plus
  • Ability to analyze complex Accounting data

SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting
  • Working knowledge of IFRS 16 / ASC 842
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC / S/4HANA (FA and Lease modules preferred)
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global close environment
