About the Role

We are building a new class of privacyfirst, ondevice AI applications designed for professionals who work with complex, highvalue documents. This role focuses on building reliable, highaccuracy AI systems that run locally, operate offline, and integrate deeply into realworld workflows.

You will design and implement applied machine learning systems that prioritize correctness, explainability, and performance over novelty. This is a handson engineering role for someone who enjoys working close to both models and product.

What You'll Do

Design and implement local inference pipelines using modern opensource LLMs

Build document understanding and retrieval systems for large, complex files

Develop robust contextmanagement strategies beyond fixed model limits

Optimize inference performance (latency, memory, throughput) on local hardware

Create structured extraction, summarization, and analysis workflows

Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ship usable features

What We're Looking For

Strong experience with applied ML or AI engineering in production systems

Handson experience with LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval techniques

Comfort working with opensource ML tooling and model runtimes

Strong engineering judgment around tradeoffs, reliability, and performance

Ability to work independently in an earlystage environment

Nice to Have

Experience with ondevice or edge ML systems

Familiarity with longdocument processing or structured extraction

Background in privacysensitive or regulated environments

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
