About the Opportunity

This role is for an extended software product engineering team supporting a U.S.-based Energy

Analytics SaaS platform. The platform specializes in Utilities Rate Lifecycle management within the Energy sector, leveraging AI and Big Data technologies. It helps large U.S. energy utility companies plan, manage, analyze, and optimize their rate design, billing, forecasting, and CRM processes.

You will be part of a collaborative team spread across the U.S., China, and India, contributing to an innovative and evolving technology environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Tariff Analyst (Data Analyst) with strong skills in SQL, Excel, and dashboarding tools. The ideal candidate should have a sharp eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for learning new tools and concepts.

This role involves analyzing and modeling utility tariffs and requires both technical acumen and an analytical mindset to support clean energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the delivery team.
  • Validate input data received from clients for modeling tasks.
  • Understand and model complex utility tariffs, rates, and programs.
  • Maintain and update tariff models with accurate pricing and logic changes.
  • Validate and test all model changes using regression and calibration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve modeling tool issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Follow change management and audit processes for production updates.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for client modeling requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on tariff modeling systems and methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of overall industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables).
  • Good understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
  • Basic to intermediate Python programming experience (automation workflows preferred).
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Energy or Utilities industry (electrical/gas tariffs).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel macros, Power Query, and dashboard tools.
  • Experience with Python or Shell scripting.
  • 1+ year of experience working in Agile environments.
  • Passion for working with data, automation, and analytics.
