Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and analysis of the controls of electronic power steering systems using dynamic system modeling and simulation
Tunes vehicle steering characteristics, diagnoses and corrects deficiencies in designs and prototypes looking into Stability
Completes validation of motor and motor control requirements
Develop and Own motor systems component calibrations
Able to perform requirements flow down. Communicate with OEM's to get clarifications of customer requirements related to motor systems and work closely with customers for technical discussions during development of EPS systems.
Effectively integrates all aspects of motor system design through the use of multi-disciplinary engineering
Uses rapid prototyping tools for motor systems development
Understands and creates system and subsystem specifications
Stays abreast of new technology
Job Requirements
At least 2 years of relevant motor control job experience.
Good understanding on different types of motor.
Good analysis skills on motor control methods.
Good understanding on Frequency domain & Time domain analysis.
Familiar with electromagnetic designs and thermal analysis
Experience with power management strategies
Good with PWM strategies and Hardware schematics analysis
Strong programming and simulation skills (with Matlab/Simulink/Scripting) and experience performing engineering calculations using spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) is required
Experience working with NI Labview environment is an added advantage
Able to perform motor simulations and tests on bench
GUI development using Matlab Guide.
Background in automotive engineering and chassis systems (steering) is desirable
Experience in testing in MIL, SIL and PIL simulation modes.
Excellent problem-solving techniques
Knowledge of system synthesis, analysis and verification techniques
Good organization and documentation abilities
