About the Role
We are looking for a Power Validation Engineer with strong experience in validation of analog, mixed-signal, and power semiconductor products. The role involves development of validation hardware, automation software, and execution of characterization and validation activities for power devices.
The engineer will work closely with design, applications, and test teams to ensure accurate validation, debugging, and documentation of power products during the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Validation Hardware Development
- Develop validation hardware board schematics for power semiconductor products.
- Design and implement test circuitry for validation and characterization.
- Perform component selection and schematic editing based on design requirements.
- Guide and review validation board layouts with PCB design teams.
- Select validation equipment considering accuracy, automation capability, cost optimization, and development timelines.
Validation Software & Automation
- Develop automation and validation software for testing and characterization.
- Ensure modularity, reliability, and scalability of validation programs.
- Optimize software for functional and parametric testing of power devices.
- Debug and enhance validation software to improve efficiency and repeatability.
Testing, Characterization & Debugging
- Debug validation hardware and power device under test (DUT) issues.
- Perform functional validation and parametric characterization.
- Conduct temperature characterization and bench-to-tester correlation analysis.
- Participate in DFT (Design for Test) discussions to ensure adequate validation coverage.
Documentation & Reporting
- Document validation procedures, methodologies, and analysis results.
- Prepare technical validation reports and present findings to engineering teams.
- Maintain structured and high-quality technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's / PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation, or related field.
- 510 years of experience in validation of analog, mixed-signal, or power semiconductor products.
- Experience in hardware validation boards and automation software development.
- Strong debugging skills for hardware and validation software.
- Experience with functional testing, parametric measurements, and characterization.
- Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams including design, test, and applications
Preferred Skills
- Experience with power management ICs, DC-DC converters, or power devices.
- Familiarity with validation automation tools and scripting environments.
- Experience with bench testing, measurement instruments, and validation setups.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage validation tasks within project timelines.
- Effective technical communication and documentation skills.
Education
Bachelor's / Master's / PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation or equivalent technical discipline.
