Role Overview
We are looking for an expert Power BI Trainer full-time/Freelancer who can design and deliver high-impact corporate training programs, public workshops, and bootcamps on Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and Data Modeling. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with exceptional classroom/virtual presentation and adult-learning skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver public and corporate training programs on:
- Beginner to Advanced Power BI (Desktop + Service)
- Power Query (M Language) & Data Transformation
- Data Modeling Best Practices (Star Schema, Relationships, RLS)
- Intermediate & Advanced DAX (Time Intelligence, Calculation Groups, Dynamic Measures, Variables, Performance Tuning)
- SQL for Power BI Developers
- Real-world case studies & industry-specific dashboards (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, HR, etc.)
- Design and regularly update training curriculum, lab exercises, datasets, and capstone projects.
- Create high-quality training material: slide decks, workbooks, video recordings, cheat sheets, and DAX reference guides.
- Conduct pre-training assessments and customize content based on participant skill levels.
- Mentor and guide participants during hands-on labs and projects.
- Deliver training in multiple formats:
- In-person classroom workshops
- Live virtual instructor-led sessions
- Recorded on-demand courses (if required)
- Achieve excellent feedback scores (minimum 4.7/5 or 90%+ positive feedback consistently).
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI features (Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, AI visuals, etc.) and incorporate them into training.
- Optionally create content for YouTube, blogs, or community sessions to build personal/organizational brand.
Required Skills & Expertise
- 510 years of strong, real-world experience building enterprise Power BI solutions.
- Expert-level proficiency in:
- DAX (complex time intelligence, dynamic segmentation, parent-child, advanced patterns)
- Power Query / M Language
- Data modeling & performance optimization
- Row-Level Security, Incremental Refresh, Composite Models
- Minimum 2 years of proven corporate/public training experience (200+ hours of classroom/virtual delivery).
- Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, engaging ways with live demonstrations.
- Excellent presentation, storytelling, and classroom management skills.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Fabric Analytics Engineer mandatory. Additional certifications (DAX, Azure, etc.) are a big plus.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Authored books, blogs, or popular video courses on Power BI/DAX
- Active contributor to Power BI community (forums, events, user groups)
- Prior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and tools like Zoom, Teams, Miro, etc.
