Primary Title: Power BI Developer On-site, India
About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Power BI Developer for an on-site role in India. This position is ideal for a hands-on BI professional who can translate complex data into performant, consumable dashboards, own end-to-end report delivery, and partner with business teams to drive measurable outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that track business KPIs and support decision-making.
- Author optimized DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations to ensure accurate, high-performance datasets.
- Develop and maintain data models, implement incremental refreshes, and ensure dataset performance at scale.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL databases, CSV, APIs) and build ETL/ELT processes to feed Power BI datasets.
- Implement security and governance: row-level security, workspace/app lifecycle management, and deployment pipelines in Power BI Service.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into visualisations, and provide training/support for report consumers.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Proven experience delivering Power BI reports and dashboards in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in DAX for complex calculations and performance tuning.
- Expertise in Power Query (M) for data transformation and cleansing.
- Hands-on SQL experience for data extraction, joins, windowing, and performance optimisation.
- Practical knowledge of data modelling best practices (star schema, dimension tables, fact tables).
- Experience with Power BI Service: workspaces, apps, row-level security, and deployment workflows.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory) or other cloud BI ecosystems.
- Experience with SSIS/ETL tools or modern ELT pipelines.
- Exposure to paginated reports, template apps, or automated testing/CI for BI artefacts.
