Power BI Developer

Vayuz Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer to join our data and analytics team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports, optimizing data models, and creating complex DAX calculations to drive crucial business insights. This role requires strong technical expertise in Power BI and a collaborative approach to translate business requirements into impactful solutions.

Role Expectations

• Dashboard & Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Data Modeling: Create and optimize robust data models, including effective star/snowflake schemas.
• DAX & KPIs: Develop complex DAX calculations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive actionable business insights.
• Data Integration: Integrate data seamlessly from various sources, including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and APIs.
• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Data Validation & Troubleshooting: Perform thorough data validation and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance of all reports and dashboards.
• Security Implementation: Implement row-level security and user-based data access strategies to ensure data confidentiality and compliance.
• Governance & Best Practices: Provide expert guidance on Power BI governance, best practices, and the development of self-service analytics models.
• Performance Monitoring: Maintain data refresh schedules and continuously monitor report performance to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and various business users, to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Advanced DAX and data modeling expertise.
• Experience with Power Query/M Language.
• Strong dashboard and visualization design skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
• Proficiency in configuring row-level security and gateway configurations.
• Familiarity with Power BI REST API and embedding techniques.
• Proficient in writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Strong capabilities in data extraction, transformation, and integration using SQL.
• Experience with large datasets and performance tuning of Power BI solutions.
