Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end BI solutions using Power BI, including data ingestion, modeling, transformation, visualization, and deployment.
- Build optimized data models using real-world business data from multiple sources, applying best practices in dimensional modeling.
- Write advanced DAX measures, calculations, and logic supporting complex business requirements.
- Perform advanced data transformation using Power Query (M) and SQL.
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot (Power BI Copilot, Fabric Copilot, and M365 Copilot) for:
- Accelerating dashboard creation and insights generation
- Drafting and optimizing DAX expressions
- Automating documentation and summarization
- Integrate datasets from diverse systems, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, APIs, and files.
- Optimize report and model performance using tools such as Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and best practices for refresh and storage.
- Implement governance and security, including RLS/OLS, dataset certifications, sensitivity labels, and deployment pipelines.
- Translate business needs into analytical requirements and communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work independently to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-quality BI solutions with minimal supervision.
Key Skills to Succeed in This Role:
- 5–8 years of experience as a Power BI Developer in enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in:
- DAX (advanced calculations, time intelligence, virtual tables)
- Power Query/M for complex data transformation
- Data modeling using star/snowflake schemas
- SQL for data extraction and transformation
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Copilot tools, including:
- Power BI Copilot for report and insight generation
- Copilot for Microsoft 365 to automate documentation and communication
- Fabric Copilot for data engineering and dataset tasks (preferred)
- Strong understanding of business logic, KPIs, and analytical storytelling.
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise-grade sources.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver independently with high ownership and accountability.
- Experience with modern BI best practices and performance tuning techniques.
Certification: Microsoft Power BI, Fabric, Azure Data certifications, or other relevant credentials are an advantage.
