About the role:
As a Power BI Developer –BIs Data Visualization, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering exceptional business intelligence experiences that empower our organization to make data-driven decisions. You will leverage your deep expertise in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling to build interactive, high-impact dash boards and reporting solutions that tell compelling data stories. This role demands a strong visualization mindset, sharp design sensibilities, and the ability to partner closely with business stakeholders to turn raw data into insight. A working knowledge of data engineering and cloud data platform is required to support your reporting layer.
What You'll Do:
Data Visualizations Dashboard Development:
• Design and build interactive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports that bring data to life and enable confident decision-making.
• Apply strong visual design principles—clarity, hierarchy, and storytelling—to deliver dashboards that are both insightful and easy to consume.
• Drive adoption of self-service BI by partnering with business users to design intuitive, reusable reporting assets
DAX s Data Modeling:
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support complex analytical scenarios.
• Design and maintain semantic data models in Power BI (star/snowflake schemas, relationships, hierarchies) optimized for performance and usability.
• Build robust dimensional models (facts, dimensions, slowly changing dimensions) tailored to business analytics use cases and aligned with enterprise data warehouse design.
• Translate complex business logic into clean, reusable data models that support both curated and ad-hoc reporting needs.
• Implement row-level security, role-based access, and work space governance for enterprise-grade reporting.
Cross-Tool Visualization (Bonus):
• Hands-on exposure to Tableau and/or Looker is a strong plus—ability to deliver across visualization platforms as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Partner with analysts, product owners, and business leaders to understand reporting needs and translate the min to elegant visualization solutions.
• Conduct dashboard walkthroughs, gather feedback, and continuously iterate to improve user experience.
Supporting Data Engineering's Cloud Data:
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting.
• Support light ETL/ELT activities—basic pipelines, data refreshes, and source integrations—to ensure reporting layers are reliable and up-to-date
• Work hands-on with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Redshift)to source, model, and consume data for reporting.
• Connect Power BI to cloud data sources, optimize query folding, and design efficient data refresh strategies across Direct Query, Import, and Composite models.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on upstream data models, transformations, and pipeline dependencies.
Performances Data Quality:
• Optimize Power BI datasets, queries, and visuals for performance and scalability.
• Apply basic data validations and quality checks to ensure trustworthy reporting outputs.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, ora related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Power BI Developer/BI Visualization Developer.
• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query(M), and data modeling within Power BI.
• Solid understanding of dimension all modeling concepts —star schema, snowflake schema, facts, dimensions, and SCDs.
• Exceptional data visualization skills—a proven eye for design, story telling, and dashboard UX.
• Solid SQL skills with experience working across data base systems such as SQL Server, Postgres, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Hands-on experience consuming data from cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Redshift.
• Working knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and basic exposure to tools such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks.
• Familiarity with Python for light scripting and data manipulation.
• Basic understanding of data serialization formats like JSON, Parquet, or CSV
We'd be super excited if you have:
• Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Looker
• A strong dashboard portfolio show casing visualization design depth
• Deeper exposure to cloud-based data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Ability to interact with RESTAPIs and perform basic web scraping tasks
• Power BI certifications (PL-300orequivalent)
