Power BI Developer

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional with 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data modeling, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong SQL and database fundamentals, hands-on expertise in Power BI, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions. The role requires practical problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a solid understanding of modern BI best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Build efficient data models using fact and dimension tables.
• Develop visualizations that provide meaningful business insights.
• Configure and manage Power BI Service components including workspaces, datasets, data refreshes, and security.
• Implement Row Level Security (RLS) based on business requirements.
• Utilize bookmarks, drill-throughs, report navigation, and advanced filtering techniques.
• Optimize report performance and data refresh strategies.
• Design scalable data models for enterprise reporting needs.
• Understand and implement historical and incremental data loading concepts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reports.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Work with joins, aggregations, subqueries, and performance optimization techniques.
• Apply database normalization principles and understand trade-offs in real-world scenarios.
• Troubleshoot data issues and validate data integrity.
• Analyze business requirements and recommend optimal reporting solutions.
• Develop dynamic data-driven solutions using DAX and Power BI features.
• Design and implement security models, user-based access controls, and data visibility rules.
• Explain end-to-end implementation approaches clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data modeling, and reporting solutions.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Advanced SQL development skills.
• Hands-on expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Data Modeling, DAX, Report Development & Visualization, Row Level Security (RLS), Bookmarks, and Report/Page/Visual Level Filters.
• Experience working with large datasets and performance optimization.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Snowflake, Azure SQL, SQL Server, or similar platforms.
• Azure Data Factory or ETL experience.
• Knowledge of Power Automate and Power Platform ecosystem.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD for Power BI deployments.
