Job Description
Job Title: Associate Developer BI
Location: Bangalore
Purpose of the role
The role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI solutions using Azure-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and high-performance dashboards by integrating Power BI with Azure services for data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
This role focuses on delivering end-to-end BI solutionsfrom sourcing data in Azure, transforming and modelling it, to creating insightful Power BI reports that support business decision-making.
Key tasks & accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets aligned with business requirements
- Integrate Power BI with Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks
- Build and optimize data models, relationships, and DAX calculations to ensure accuracy and performance
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to define data pipelines, transformations, and refresh strategies
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and validation across all reporting solutions
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and follow data governance and compliance standards
- Optimize report and dataset performance, including query tuning and refresh optimization
- Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of Power BI solutions in production environments
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights and visualizations
- Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and documentation for existing BI solutions
- Adhere to best practices for version control, change management, and release processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analytics standards, reusable components, and BI frameworks
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in Power BI, Azure Data, or Analytics are an added advantage
- Proficiency in Python programming language for data manipulation and automation.
- Hands-on experience integrating Power BI with Azure services
- Experience with end-to-end BI delivery, from data ingestion to visualization
- Exposure to production deployments, performance tuning, and support of BI solutions
- Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
