Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer to work on performance-critical, data-intensive systems. The role requires strong hands-on experience in SQL development, query optimization, and database design for large-scale platforms such as telemetry, IoT, or event-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and database components
• Build and support databases handling large datasets, telemetry, IoT, or event-based workloads
• Perform advanced SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, and query optimization
• Design and implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies for scale and performance
• Work with AWS RDS PostgreSQL for scalable and reliable deployments
• Implement and manage replication, high availability, and backup strategies (developer-owned, not ops-only)
• Leverage database monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues
• Collaborate with application, data, and platform teams to support evolving product requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–9 years of strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL development
• Deep expertise in SQL, schema design, and performance tuning
• Proven experience with large-scale datasets (telemetry, IoT, event streams, or time-series data)
• Strong understanding of indexing, partitioning, and PostgreSQL internals
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL in production environments
• Exposure to database monitoring, observability, and performance diagnostics
• Working knowledge of backup, HA, replication, and disaster recovery concepts

Nice to Have

• Experience with PostGIS, Full-Text Search, or pgvector
• Experience supporting high-throughput / low-latency systems
• Cloud-native database design exposure

Who Should Not Apply

• Candidates whose primary role is PostgreSQL DBA / Database Administrator
• Profiles focused mainly on production support, patching, user management, or routine DBA operations
• Candidates without hands-on SQL development and performance engineering experience
