Job Description
The POS Tester works closely with Developers, Leads, Architects, and business stakeholders to validate POS functionalities across pilot and production environments. The role focuses on validating POS transactions, system integrations, store configurations, fiscal compliance, and production defect resolution during rollouts and BAU operations, while also supporting pre‑sales solution assessments.
Responsibilities
- Perform functional and integration testing of POS applications
- Validate POS transaction flows (sales, returns, exchanges, promotions, voids)
- Test integrations with payments, OMS, ERP, inventory, and sales audit systems
- Validate POS configurations for stores, registers, tenders, taxes, and receipts
- Execute SIT, UAT, regression, and production validation testing
- Log, track, and retest defects in coordination with development teams
- Support pilot launches, store rollouts, go‑live readiness, and hypercare
- Validate transaction accuracy, reconciliation, and fiscal compliance
- Collaborate with QA, development, integration, and operations teams
- Support Pre‑sales & Sales teams with test strategy inputs and POS capability validation
- Maintain test cases, test data, and QA documentation
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–8 years of experience testing POS or retail store applications
- Strong understanding of POS transaction lifecycles and store operations
- Experience testing:
- Payments and tenders
- Pricing, promotions, and taxes
- Sales audit and transaction reconciliation
- Fiscalization and compliance scenarios
- Experience in API and integration testing
- Hands‑on experience supporting high‑volume retail production systems
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with testing Aptos ONE / Aptos POS Applications
- Omni‑channel retail testing experience (BOPIS, BORIS, ship‑from‑store)
- UK / Europe retail exposure (tax, fiscalization, compliance)
- Exposure to POS hardware testing (MDM, printers, pin pads, scanners)
