Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support all activities related to vehicle export operations at ports.
  • Address and resolve concerns of port teams (Outsourced MSIL teams).
  • Arrange supply of parts and consumables to ports; negotiate with vendors and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of safety, environmental, and legal compliances at ports.
  • Handle payments and processing for LSPs and vendors.
  • Coordinate and support both internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and circulate detailed MIS reports.

Key Functional Responsibilities

  • Prepare business plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Generate and maintain MIS for reporting and planning.
  • Coordinate with port teams to understand and resolve on-ground concerns.
  • Manage RFQs and negotiate rates for both new and existing vendors.
  • Liaise with customs and ensure overall coordination between MSIL, LSPs, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with departments (Logistics, International Marketing) to ensure timely vehicle readiness as per shipment plans.
  • Ensure accurate export documentation and timely submission of vendor invoices.
  • Stay up-to-date and ensure compliance with international trade and customs laws.
  • Provide operational support to port teams to ensure vehicle export worthiness and timely delivery of parts/consumables.
  • Manage vehicle inventory, space, and storage at ports; update and reconcile inventory records.
  • Minimize demurrage, detention, and storage costs at ports through negotiation and efficiency.
  • Address customer and internal concerns promptly regarding export operations.
  • Anticipate and identify risks or potential bottlenecks in the export process and build contingency plans.
  • Solve real-time operational issues related to vehicle handling at ports.
  • Submit periodic reports on export volumes, incidents, and reviews.
  • Continuously analyze processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to optimize export logistics and strategies.
  • Ensure all legal, environmental, and safety regulations are met and implemented.
  1. Coordinate audit closures by implementing corrective and preventive measures.

Competencies / Skills Required

  • Basic understanding of sales and distribution operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of export logistics operations and related customs regulations.
  • Understanding of vendor management, performance benchmarking, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with API integration and IT systems related to export operations.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and within a team structure.
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational and organizational needs.
  • MBA in Operations (preferred).
