Job Description

Position Purpose:

The PLM Solution Architect is the strategic leader and integrator within the PLM workstream, responsible for defining the architectural direction of PLM solutions and ensuring alignment between business strategy and technical execution. The role translates global, regional, and local PLM business requirements into scalable, integrated, and sustainable solution architectures. Working across functions and in close alignment with Enterprise Architecture, the role ensures continuity, quality, and effective decision-making within the PLM workstream.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Product Ownership: Drive the long-term PLM solution architecture and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, sustainability, scalability, and consistency with LIXIL's architecture and data governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Understand and incorporate upstream and downstream processes across the product lifecycle (e.g. PDM, CAX, SAP, PIM) to ensure seamless integration and end-to-end process consistency. Proactively collaborate internally across functions and with external partners to manage dependencies and resolve solution-level conflicts.
  • Regional Alignment: Coordinate and reconcile regional and local business requirements with global PLM templates, standards, and governance frameworks. Represent PLM architectural interests in global and regional forums to ensure balanced global consistency and local flexibility.
  • Solution Design Oversight: Lead and govern the design and implementation of complex, innovative PLM solutions. Validate solution proposals from internal and external partners.
  • Project Leadership: Lead or consult on high-impact PLM initiatives, representing architectural interests from project request and evaluation through design and delivery. Serve as an escalation point for architectural decisions and critical solution-related issues.
  • Enterprise Architecture Alignment: Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure PLM solutions align with the overall IT & Digital strategy, target architecture, and technology standards, and to contribute PLM perspectives to enterprise-wide architectural decisions.
  • Mentorship & Enablement: Provide functional mentoring and architectural guidance to PLM workstream members. Support capability building by promoting architectural best practices and consistent solution patterns across regions.
  • Substitution and Leadership: Ensure continuity of PLM solution decision-making by acting as a deputy to the Workstream Leader in technical and solutioning discussions when necessary. In coordination with the Workstream Leader, provide leadership support by helping manage priorities, facilitating discussions, and supporting decision-making

General Requirements (Applicable To SA Level Roles)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields; Masters Degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise PLM and IT environments, including solution architecture, system integration, and complex enterprise application landscapes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering scalable PLM solutions and leading crossfunctional and cross-regional teams
  • Strong experience with leading PLM platforms, particularly SAP ECTR and SAP S/4HANA PLM, as well as familiarity with alternative PLM solutions such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systmes ENOVIA.
  • Deep understanding of PLM concepts, principles, and best practices for managing product lifecycle capabilities
  • Experience working in SAP-centric landscapes, including integration across SAP modules and adjacent enterprise systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus
  • Strategic thinking, with ability to balance long-term vision with short-term business needs.
