Job Description

Position: PLC Programmer

Industry: Pharmaceutical Process Machine Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities

Review and analyze P&ID diagrams for process understanding and preparation of I/O lists.

Perform process analysis based on P&ID diagrams to support control philosophy development.

Design, review, and verify power and control wiring of panels in accordance with approved electrical drawings.

Develop, test, and debug PLC logic and HMI graphic designs using DELTA and SIEMENS PLC platforms.

Program PLC applications using Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST).

Conduct machine process trials, ensuring correct implementation of process flow, interlocks, and alarms.

Develop and maintain HMI micro-scripting as per process and operational requirements.

Establish reliable communication interfaces between PLC, HMI, VFD, Load Cell, Servo Drives, and Analog I/O using:

oRS232

oRS485 (RTU & ASCII)

oEthernet-based protocols

Program and configure VFDs and Load Cells, including parameterization and functional testing.

Conduct IFAT / FAT in line with approved process flow diagrams and verify all safety and process interlocks.

Perform load cell calibration and ensure accurate weight communication with HMI systems.

Coordinate with the Documentation team for preparation and review of PLC Functional Design Specifications (FDS).

Provide technical support to site engineers for logic development, troubleshooting, and design modifications (online and offline).

Carry out site visits for software commissioning, hardware integration, troubleshooting, and customer-requested modifications.

Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards, safety norms, and validation requirements.

Qualification

BE / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or Electrical Engineering (EE)

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum 35 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Process Machine Manufacturing.

Strong understanding of process automation and validation requirements in pharma industry.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Effective customer handling and coordination abilities.

Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Align it with GMP & 21 CFR Part 11.
