Role Overview

We are seeking a PLC Engineer with strong expertise in robotics, servo drives, and motion control systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing control systems for advanced automation solutions including robotic systems, material handling equipment, and special-purpose machines.

This role requires hands-on experience in PLC programming, motion control tuning, and integration of robotics with industrial automation systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for automation projects including robotics, conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, and material handling systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
  • Configure, tune, and optimize servo drives and motion control systems for precision applications.
  • Integrate and commission robotic systems such as SCARA, Delta, Gantry, and articulated robots.
  • Develop and manage multi-axis motion control applications including synchronization, interpolation, and path control.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams for system integration and project execution.
  • Perform machine commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting at shop floor and customer sites.
  • Ensure smooth communication between hardware components using industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including control schematics, IO lists, and user manuals.
  • Support new product development and customized automation solutions based on client requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and optimization of existing automation systems.

Key Skills & Expertise

  • Strong experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens / Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi preferred).
  • Hands-on expertise in servo drives, VFDs, and motion controllers.
  • Solid understanding of robotics systems and integration.
  • Experience in multi-axis motion control and synchronization.
  • Proficiency in HMI and SCADA development.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation hardware, control panels, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, CAN, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 14 years of experience in controls and automation, preferably in robotics or material handling industry.
  • Hands-on experience in robotics and motion control applications is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in machine commissioning and field support is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for site installation and commissioning when required.
