What The Role Looks Like
- Review previous day production, inventory, and plan daily targets
- Oversee shift operations
- Monitor shop-floor production, quality, and equipment performance
- Oversee scrap inward, loading/unloading, and vehicle weighment accuracy
- Coordinate with logistics for dispatch planning and vehicle placement
- Ensure safety compliance, housekeeping, and resolving on-ground issues
- Liaise with local authorities and handle basic plant compliance
- Maintain daily reports on production, inventory, and operational performance
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant In-charge to join our team. This role involves managing and planning the daily operations of the scrap processing unit, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, managing staff, cand ensuring ethical and safe movement of scrap materials.

Function - Processing Unit
Experience - 6-10 years and above
Location - Chennai
Qualification - Diploma/ bachelor's in mechanical/ production/ electrical/ industrial engineering, production management.
Preferred Industry: Manufacturing, Recycling, or Scrap processing are preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Supervision:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of scrap processing unit.
- Manage production planning, manpower planning, basic maintenance and consumables, dispatch and ability to handle compliance matter related to plant and liaison with local authority.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and targets.
- Oversee and guide production team to achieve high-quality results.
- Identify area of improvement in scrap processing workflow and recommend changes for better efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Manpower Handling, Reporting and Documentation:
- Ability to handle contractual manpower and on-roll employees. Manage shift- schedule and roaster.
- Monitor and maintain record of inward and outward inventory of scrap materials.
- Maintain accurate records of daily productions, inventory and equipment performance.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on productivity, cost and efficiency
- Track and report any incident, accidents or malfunction practices promptly.
- Quality Control:
- Oversee quality checks to ensure they are conducted as per SOPs.
- Identify and resolve/report any deviations or defects in the production process.
- Vehicle Loading Supervision:
- Monitor proper and safe material movement of Raw materials and finished goods loading and unloading.
- Ensure proper stacking and securing of materials to prevent damage during transportation.
- Ensure proper documentation, checklist, weighment accuracy.
- Safety Measures & Housekeeping:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and measures on the shop floor.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to mitigate risks and hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization on the shop floor.
- Ensure that materials and tools are stored properly to promote a safe working environment.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate the placement of vehicles for loading and unloading.
- Maintain clear communication to ensure timely logistics operations.
