Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Planning and Design Engineer
(Electrical) with strong experience in MEP and Solar Projects. The candidate will be responsible
for end-to-end planning, electrical design, estimation, and execution support for HT and LT
electrical systems. This role demands technical expertise, project coordination skills, and the
ability to deliver cost-effective and efficient design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning & Project Management
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure timely execution.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical inputs to resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety norms.
2. Electrical Design & Engineering
- Prepare electrical designs for HT (High Tension) and LT (Low Tension) systems.
- Design layouts for power distribution, lighting, earthing, and cable routing.
- Prepare single line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, and system sizing.
- Review and validate drawings in compliance with applicable standards and codes.
3. Estimation & Costing
- Prepare accurate project estimations based on drawings and specifications.
- Develop detailed BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for electrical and MEP works.
- Analyze material, labor, and project costs to optimize budget utilization.
- Support tendering and procurement processes with technical inputs.
4. Drawing & Documentation
- Prepare and review site electrical drawings, layouts, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure all designs are aligned with site conditions and client requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for approvals, revisions, and project records.
5. MEP & Solar Project Execution
- Work on integrated MEP systems, ensuring coordination between electrical,
- mechanical, and plumbing services.
- Design and support execution of solar PV systems, including rooftop installations.
- Perform system sizing, inverter selection, and energy generation estimation for solar
projects.
6. Technical Coordination
- Liaise with consultants, vendors, and contractors for technical clarifications.
- Conduct site visits to validate design feasibility and provide engineering support.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving on-site technical issues.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HT & LT electrical systems and components.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of other design tools is an
- advantage.
- Hands-on experience in BOQ preparation, estimation, and cost analysis.
- Good understanding of MEP project coordination.
- Experience in solar project design and execution.
- Familiarity with electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry codes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
