Role Overview
Agriplast is looking for a highly skilled Irrigation Engineer to design, execute, and optimize irrigation systems for protected cultivation projects including polyhouses, greenhouses, and net houses.
The role demands strong technical expertise in micro-irrigation systems (drip, fogging, misting, fertigation) along with hands-on project execution capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Planning
- Design irrigation systems for polyhouse and greenhouse projects
- Prepare BOQs, layouts, hydraulic calculations, and system drawings
- Selection of components: pumps, filters, valves, drippers, foggers, fertigation units
- Optimize designs based on crop, climate, and water quality
2. Project Execution
- Supervise installation and commissioning of irrigation systems at site
- Ensure adherence to Agriplast quality standards
- Coordinate with civil, structure, and agronomy teams
- Manage vendors and contractors during installation
3. System Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
- Uneven irrigation
- Pressure variations
- Clogging / filtration problems
- Optimize fertigation schedules for different crops
- Improve system efficiency and water-use optimization
4. Client Interaction & Training
- Provide on-site training to farmers and clients on system usage
- Support sales team with technical inputs and presentations
- Handle post-installation service and customer queries
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and SOPs
- Maintain project documentation and site reports
- Track system performance and suggest improvements
Key Skills Required
Strong knowledge of:
- Drip irrigation systems
- Fertigation systems (Venturi / Dosing systems)
- Fogging & misting systems
- Understanding of protected cultivation crops and practices
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD / design tools
- Strong problem-solving and field execution skills
- Good communication and client-handling abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Agricultural Engineering
- Irrigation Engineering
- Horticulture (with irrigation expertise)
- Experience in polyhouse / greenhouse irrigation systems is highly preferred
