PKI Developer (Venafi Web SDK & REST API)

Role Summary

We're looking for a hands-on PKI Developer who will design, build, and automate certificate

lifecycle management using Venafi, with deep experience in the Web SDK and REST API.

You will develop integrations, workflows, and tooling that make issuing, renewing, and

revoking certificates resilient, auditable, and developer-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

- Build & Automate CLM using Venafi Web SDK and REST API.

- Develop integrations with CI/CD, Kubernetes, load balancers, HSMs, and secrets platforms.

- Build SDKs, wrappers, and CLI tools in Python/PowerShell.

- Implement certificate policy, governance, and compliance controls.

- Create dashboards and alerting for certificate operations.

- Collaborate with CA/PKI ops and manage ADCS/OCSP/CRL configurations.

- Provide documentation and developer onboarding.

- Ensure test coverage, code quality, error handling, and resiliency.

- Provide support and maintenance activities for existing workflow and automations.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of core software development concepts, including:

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles

• SOLID design principles

• Clean code and modular design practices

Hands-on experience working with REST APIs, including:

• API integration and consumption

• Authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, tokens, etc.)

• Troubleshooting API failures, errors, and performance issues

- Hands-on experience with Venafi Web SDK and REST API.

- Strong PKI knowledge (X.509, RSA/ECC, CRL/OCSP, EKU/SAN, mTLS).

- strong in Python and/or PowerShell for Venafi Web SDK.

- Automation experience with web servers, load balancers, Kubernetes, service meshes.

- Understanding of HSMs and secure key management.

- Strong REST API, OAuth2, and API integration knowledge.

- Familiarity with ADCS, Key Vaults, ACM.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field.

- 3–7+ years PKI engineering/software development.

- Certifications (Venafi, Microsoft, cloud) are a plus.
