Job Description

Talent Formula (www.talentformula.co) is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide.

We currently have a Corporate Tax Administrator position available with our client, PKF Littlejohn. They require the Corporate Tax Administrator to join their team as part of their offshore growth strategy.

Purpose and aim of the role

You will be expected to carry out basic tax compliance functions in the Corporate Tax Division.

You Will Receive Comprehensive Training In All Areas Required

  • The tax compliance process in your process as it pertains to your role.
  • Background to the Firm's tax procedures including take on procedures and risk management.
  • The Firm's general procedures (including administrative processes such as timesheets and WIP management)
  • Use of relevant software within the divisions, such as Alpha Tax, CCH and Inflo, etc.
  • Other training as required.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

To assist the members of staff in managing a portfolio of clients; responsibilities might include the following:

Tax Compliance Support

These tasks relate directly to preparing and organising inputs for corporation tax returns:

  • Inputting trial balance into Alphatax
  • Checking trial balance against accounts
  • Inputting payments from HMRC portal into Alphatax
  • For new clients - gathering and organising client source data, such as accounts, payment schedules, prior-year computations, Group Relief schedules, etc. (existing clients will be on system)
  • Downloading information from Companies House, e.g., filed accounts
  • Downloading HMRC statements for CT liabilities to support tax payment reconciliations.
  • Updating tax payment schedules for clients once instructed by seniors.

Administrative Support Around Compliance

These Activities Help Maintain Workflow, Records, And Communication

  • Processing portfolio updates in the software.
  • Drafting bills
  • Preparing WIP vs Promises analysis for each manager
  • Maintaining trackers to accurately reflect status and progress of work
  • Filing signed returns and signed letters in the correct document management system folders.

iXBRL and Accounts Support

Basic iXBRL and digital filing tasks that do not require technical accounting interpretation:

  • Creating iXBRL tags using standard mapping templates.
  • Checking tagged accounts for formatting issues (page breaks, signature blocks, missing lines).

Process & Workflow Tasks

Supporting The Wider Operations Of The Tax Team

  • Assisting with annual client take-on checks and procedures
  • Helping collate documents for internal or external file reviews
  • Other projects as appropriate include those within other tax teams based on needs

Skills And Qualifications

  • Any Graduate or Postgraduate degree (Commerce/Accounting/Finance)
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a similar role
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and trial balance.
  • Ability to reconcile trial balance with statutory accounts and identify obvious mismatches.
  • Strong data accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to transpose and reconcile figures accurately.
    • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
