Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Piping Stress Engineer with at least 5+ years of experience in pipingstress analysis, particularly in water treatmentprojects, oil & gas, refinery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating pipe systems to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate shall be able to perform the following:
- Pipe stressanalysis calculations.
- Provide plant layout comments, including load inputs to other disciplines.
- Develop and review piping mechanical specifications.
- Perform special studies related to piping stress.
- Prepare special piping (SP) item calculations, drawings, and data sheets.
- Develop special piping (SP) item requisition worksheets.
- Create pipe support drawings, pipe support requisition worksheets, and define support locations.
- Use CAESAR II software to perform piping flexibility analysis.
- Apply knowledge of support selection and support design, including creation of special supportdrawings.
- Perform fatigue and blast analysis, and consider structural interactions as applicable.
- Review and navigate 3D models using Navisworks / Review Reality.
- Knowledge of AIV/FIV analysis is preferable.
- Effectively guide and mentor junior engineers in executing assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of PML macros development will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of PML macrosdevelopment will be an addedadvantage.
- Perform piping stressanalysis for water treatment plants,pumping stations, and large pipeline networks using tools like CAESAR II or equivalent software.
- Carry out the necessarycalculations to ensure that all loading conditions, which may be experienced by a piping system, are considered and catered for, within the design.
- Ensure that piping systemscomply fully with the stress analysis requirements specified.
- Issue approvedstress isometrics for critical lines as required.
- Prepare stress calculations and nozzle loads summaries demonstrating Code compliance and prepare a Stress Analysis Reportcontaining calculations and information for each pipingsystem analyzed (when required by the Client).
- Review and validate support locations, anchor points, and expansionjoints in coordination with piping layout teams.
- Prepare and deliver stress reports, calculations, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, and civil teams to ensureintegrated and clash-free design.
- Assist in site reviews, troubleshooting, and commissioning support when required.
- Conduct piping stressanalysis using CAESAR II for water/wastewater systems.
- Perform sustained, occasional, and displacement stress calculations.
- Coordinate with structuralengineers for supportdesign integration.
- Prepare technical reportsand recommendations for piping modifications.
- Support field troubleshooting of vibration or stress-related issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in piping stressanalysis, preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in stress analysistools such as CAESAR II.
- Solid understanding of pipe support design, allowable stresses, materialproperties, and flexibility analysis.
- Knowledgeof water pipingsystems, including HDPE, DI, SS, and carbon steel pipelines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle projects executed in a multi- centre environment.
