Job Title: Piping Material Engineer

Role Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Piping Material Engineer to spearhead the development, selection, and management of piping components for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in international codes and standards with the leadership skills necessary to manage a specialized team and drive cost-effective design solutions.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities
Technical Design & Standards
- Piping Classes: Lead the development and assignment of piping classes in close collaboration with Process Engineers, Metallurgists, and Corrosion Specialists.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to international codes including ASME B31.3, ASME B16 series, NACE MR0175/MR0103, MSS SPs, and API standards.
- Material Selection: Review client specifications and propose alternate, cost-saving material selections and design solutions where technically feasible.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, Valve Data Sheets, and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for piping components.
- Bid Evaluation: Conduct rigorous technical bid evaluations for piping components and valves to ensure vendor compliance.
- Post-Order Management: Review and approve post-order technical documents received from suppliers to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Material Take-Off (MTO) & Estimation
- MTO Development: Prepare preliminary Piping MTOs based on P&IDs, Piping Layouts, and Plot Plans.
- Material Lifecycle: Manage and maintain continuous MTO activities (valves and specialty items) for accurate material estimation and purchasing throughout the project lifecycle.
