The Senior Piping Engineer is responsible for the preparation, design, and technical management of piping systems for process and utility applications. The role includes preparing material indices, datasheets, and technical specifications, performing design calculations, reviewing vendor documents, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure compliance with international codes and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Piping Material Index (PMI) and Piping Material Classes for process and utility systems.
- Develop valve datasheets and datasheets for piping specialty items.
- Write technical and purchase specifications for bulk materials, valves, and specialty items.
- Handle metallic piping systems (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex/Super Duplex Stainless Steel, Low Alloy Steel) and non-metallic piping systems (GRE, GRP, FRP, HDPE).
- Perform design calculations for pipe wall thickness under internal pressures, vacuum conditions, branch reinforcement pads, bends, spectacle blinds (spade/spacer), and other piping components.
- Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and client specifications, including SHELL and Saudi Aramco standards.
- Prepare technical/material requisitions for piping bulks, valves, and specialty items.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and engage in discussions/clarifications with vendors.
- Review and approve vendor documents and drawings.
- Utilize material management software to track and manage piping materials.
- Coordinate effectively with various disciplines, centers, vendors, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1016 years of relevant experience in piping engineering for process and utility systems.
