- Candidate should be proficient in Piping Materials with experience in engineering consultancy on industrial design projects like chemical, pharmaceutical, bulk drugs, etc.
- Comprehension of client / project requirements for timely completion and submission of project deliveries.
- Possess good knowledge of Codes like ASME B31.3, ASME B31.12, ASME B31.1, related ASTM / API / BS standards and application of these requirements in projects.
- Possess good knowledge of piping material selection and developing piping service class index in consultation with process engineer.
- Preparation of Piping specifications for metallic piping, non-metallic piping and lined piping
- Preparation of Pipe wall thickness calculations including external pressure calculation, branch chart calculations and line blanks.
- Development of project standards, technical specifications for piping materials with minimum supervision.
- Preparation of Valve Material Specifications
- Preparation of datasheets for all piping special items like special valves, strainers, traps, sight glass, bellows, hoses, etc.
- Preparation of RFQs for piping bulk items, valves, specialty items, etc
- Carrying out technical evaluation of vendor offers against RFQs for all piping material; preparation of both technical evaluation and commercial comparison; Preparation of technical bid study reports for valves, piping specialties, etc.
- Check and review vendor documents & drawings for valves & piping specialties.
- Assisting in all interfacing, engineering, and construction groups in the area of piping material.
- Able to resolve all piping material related issues in project.
- Advising on all technical deviations of piping material proposed by vendors, site contractors.
- Identifying deviations in job scope and estimating magnitude of changes
- Assuring that quality control procedures are adhered for the assigned work.
- Ensuring smooth communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within Piping Engineering and other design, engineering, and purchasing disciplines.
- Extraction and handling Piping MTO for the project.
- Preparation of Cost estimation for Piping bought items as well as for construction related activities like Equipment Erection, Piping fabrication - erection works, thermal insulation & Painting works.
- Preparation of Technical specifications for Equipment erection, Piping fabrication Works
- Preparation of Piping MTO & Inch Dia / Inch Metre reports
- Preparation of Technical specifications for Thermal Insulation & Painting Works
- Estimation of Insulation & Painting Bill of Material.
Candidate Specification:
- Qualified BE / ME in Mechanical from a reputed university / institute
- Experience in Engineering Consultancy firms, with Chemical Industry / Pharmaceutical Industry background.
- Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, MS Office
- Should be dedicated and with good problem-solving ability.
- Should have high work ethics and act responsibly.
- Should be flexible or adaptable to change.
- Should be a resourceful team player with good communication and inter-personal skills, analytical understanding and visualization skills.
