Job Description

Physics Masters – AI Training Specialist

About The Role

We're looking for physics graduates and postgraduates to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep understanding of physics will directly shape how the next generation of AI systems reason through complex scientific problems — making a real impact on the future of artificial intelligence.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your own hours and work as much or as little as suits you — between 10 and 40 hours per week.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design challenging, rigorous physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more
  • Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with logically sound reasoning that AI systems can learn from
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth, and quality of reasoning
  • Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to Masters-level physics topics
  • Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps improve AI model performance

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced physics domains
  • Able to communicate complex concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating reasoning quality
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous environment
  • No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or academic peer review
  • Familiarity with mathematical problem-setting or curriculum design
  • Exposure to computational or applied physics methods

Why Join Us

  • Work on frontier AI projects alongside world-leading research labs
  • Fully remote and asynchronous — work from anywhere, on your schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, flexibility, and variety in your work
  • Directly influence how AI understands and reasons about physics
  • Potential for ongoing contract renewals and expanded project involvement
