About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team remotely. This role is ideal for a professional with over seven years of solid experience in PHP and WordPress customization, who is passionate about developing bespoke websites and web applications. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development and maintenance of complex WordPress platforms, ensuring they meet enterprise-level standards of security, scalability, and performance. You will oversee multiple projects, collaborate closely with project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
The position requires a proactive individual capable of managing end-to-end project delivery, implementing advanced SEO strategies—including AI and search engine optimization—integrating third-party APIs, and ensuring adherence to web security best practices. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress development, including extensive work on custom themes and plugins. Proficiency in Core PHP and familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP are essential. Strong expertise in WordPress customization, WooCommerce, and API integrations is mandatory. The candidate must demonstrate excellent skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a keen eye for UI/UX design and responsive development. Additionally, a deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, web performance optimization, and security standards—especially OWASP guidelines—is required. Experience working with REST APIs, third-party services, and version control systems like Git is also essential. Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, customization, and maintenance of high-quality WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
- Build and enhance applications using Core PHP and popular frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
- Implement and optimize websites for AI-driven search visibility, including structured data, schema markup, and AI-friendly content strategies.
- Customize front-end user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to deliver responsive, pixel-perfect, and high-performance UI experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Core Web Vitals, implement performance optimization strategies, and adopt best development practices for caching and security.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, CRMs, payment gateways, and automation systems to extend platform functionalities.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and review code for junior developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance development environment.
- Maintain a strong focus on security, adhering to OWASP guidelines and implementing safe coding practices to ensure platform stability.
- Collaborate with project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure websites meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and are cross-browser compatible, responsive, and reliable.
- Plan, document, and communicate project workflows effectively, utilizing structured development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
