Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Photonics Design Engineer to join our research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in silicon photonics device design and optical simulation. The role involves designing photonic components for fabrication and developing photonics chipset with improved efficiency and reliability. This role requires close collaboration with fabrication and packaging teams to convert device concepts into manufacturable chips and working prototypes.

Requirements

• MSc/M.Tech/PhD Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics or a related field
• Experience in photonic device design and simulation using tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, HFSS or similar.

Job Role

• Understanding of optical wave propagation, on-chip photonic waveguide and optical modulator simulation and optoelectronic integration.
• Strong understanding of waveguides, resonators, modulators and photodetectors
• Experience with layout preparation and supporting fabrication tape-outs.
• Experience in simulation of large-scale photonic devices.
• Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, MATLAB or similar.
• Knowledge of integrated photonics is a plus.
