Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. The role plays a key part in delivering efficient pharmacy operations and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Accurately label, package, and store medications as per guidelines.
- Process prescriptions and verify patient and insurance information.
- Manage inventory, stock replenishment, and expiry tracking.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Handle billing, insurance claims, and prescription refills where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, safety standards, and protocols.
- Support customer service by addressing patient queries and concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Assist in audits and regulatory inspections.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technology or a related field.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license or registration, as applicable.
- 1+ years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy environment.
- Knowledge of medication names, dosage forms, and pharmacy procedures.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with pharmacy management systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Tools & Systems (Preferred)
- Pharmacy Management Systems and POS tools
- Inventory and billing software
- Electronic prescription systems
- Basic MS Office skills
Certifications (Mandatory / Nice to Have)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) or equivalent
- State or national pharmacy registration, as applicable
