Role & Responsibilities
Medication Management & Dispensing
- Assess the identity, strength, and purity of medications.
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate their suitability.
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors.
- Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling them properly.
- Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
Patient Consultation & Education
- Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
- Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
- Offer health promotion and prevention activities, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.
Quality Assurance & Collaboration
- Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
Record Keeping
- Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
Preferred Candidate Profile
We're seeking a professional who meets the following criteria:
- Communication: Proficiency in verbal communication in English and Kannada/Hindi. Any additional local language proficiency is an added advantage.
- Qualification: B-Pharma, M-Pharma, or Pharma D.
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of relevant experience.
- Registration: Registered with Karnataka Pharmacy Council and ready to submit the Original Registration (KPC Certificate).
- Work Ethic: Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills.
- Instruction Comprehension: Ability to comprehend written instructions given by doctors and other related departmental personnel.
- Planning & Organization: Ability to plan & organize one's work schedule effectively.
- Interpersonal Communication: Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out instructions given by supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
