Job Description

Job Purpose

Timely procurement of required quantity of fuel, packing bags, AFR and raw material for ensuring continuous plant operations by coordinating with suppliers and transporters. Collection of quotations from suppliers, transporters, preparation comparative and support to SH for negotiation. Ensure required legal compliance related to Fuel & raw materials while fulfilling all system requirements.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context:
Sewagram Cement Works was commissioned in 2009. The plant has clinker capacity of 3.6 MTPA and cement capacity of 2.4 MTPA. The Unit has two captive power plants CPP-I with 35 MV and CPP-II with 22.5 MV capacity. The Unit has mines with reserve of 246.45 MT, a captive jetty, a desalination plant that can filter around 20 lakh liters of water every day. The plant also has an environmental cell which monitors air and water quality, audits, and conducts marine ecological studies and environmental studies of mines and nearby villages.

Job Challenges:
-To maintain optimum stock of Raw materials to fulfill the manufacturing targets and fluctuation in cement demand as per marketing requirement.
-To maintain optimum stock considering the limited storage space.
-To procure raw material from various sources considering limitation in their availability like Fly Ash, Clay, Silica etc.
-To procure raw material as per budgeted target especially in lean period of their availability.
- Identifying and introducing raw material vendors to ensure continuous supply of raw material within budgeted cost.
- To prepare long term strategic planning for raw material availability and judging local sensitivity.
- During sudden increase in Cement, there is a challenge to procure sufficient quantity of PP Bags due to remote location and no return load facility which creates challenge in ensuing timely availability of bags.
-To control transportation cost since return load is not available from the location which leads to increase in transportation cost.

KRA1	Procurement of Raw Material	-Collection of requirements from internal customer (TM1 Rolling plan) --Timely collection of quotation, preparation of comparative, extend support to senior in negotiation and placement of Supply and transportation order. -Coordinate with transporters & suppliers for supply of material as per the requirement of the plant. -Timely preparation of GRN for Fly ash, Clay, Silica sand, AFR and all other raw materials. -Regular checking of Bills, prepare statement and timely creating UKSC case ID for processing of bills passing. -Schedule Manpower deployment for supervision of inward raw material. -PR preparation & Bill passing for contractor manpower. -Preparing & timely sharing of Schedule of supply with suppliers.
KRA2	Establish control procedures	- Mining lease documents of vendors, check in co-ordination with mines department. -Submit raw material receipt, consumption Data in IBM software. -Verification & up keeping of record for future verification and audit purpose in compliance of SOP. -Physical verification of all Raw material & Packing Bags on monthly and as & when advise by management. -Review of final verification report from Packing Plant regarding bag stocks. - Prepare & get Approval of raw material Physical verification report. - Calculate quantity & book Moisture /Transit loss/Handling loss etc. to maintain correct stock quantity.
KRA3	Optimize variable cost of clinker and cement (Raw materials and Fuels).	-Visit mining area and search new suppliers/transporters for supply of better-quality material at lower cost. -Search new raw material as substitute at lower cost.
KRA4	MIS/ Management Reports	-Timely entries in various business software (SAP, TM1). -Review of SAP Data w.r.t. actual documents and correct in SAP before GRN preparation. -Collection of Raw material documents from Weighbridge. -Coordinate with PP Bags transporters & suppliers for timely deliver required quantity. -Daily Bags stock report preparation. -Preparation of Raw Material section MIS for monitoring and review. -Timely preparation & submission of various details for analysis as and when required by SH.
KRA5	Coordination with Central Procurement Cell at Mumbai and another department	- Co- ordinate with CPC for Import of coal as per plant requirement. - Regularly connect with stevedoring agent for getting timely services. - Connect account department for timely clearance of debit/credit note as per PO conditions.
KRA6	SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) along with Sustainability initiatives	- Ensuring 100% compliance of all safety standards and all applicable recommendations related to their concerned area. - Educating team about I know my job, I know the hazards associated with my job and I applied control measures & I escalate to my senior among manpower deployed in sections/department manpower including peer, WB & CL manpower - Timely conducting scheduled SO round and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses on occurrences in the area of concern in system. - To conduct daily Toolbox talk as schedule and before starting of the job any critical job along with SWP - Active participation in safety training, safety sub committees, standard champions meeting and any safety event. - Ensure good housekeeping, limited use of power, no leakage of water, oil, air etc. and reporting concerned if any abnormalities for corrective action. - Adhering of all safety precautions on the site and off the site - Replicating good practice for saving environment for long run sustainability and creating awareness among manpower to save guard natural resources.
KRA7	System Management (Effective implementation of all IMS and other systems requirements through involvement for continuous improvement in plant working condition & quality standards)	-To implement improvement project to reduce repetitive problems/breakdown or losses. -Timely submission of Kaizen, OPL, Good to fine, suggestion on system -Developing and sustaining Model area in respective sections -100% active participation in respective KFA & GRT meetings and giving inputs related to bring new technology, innovation and improvements towards productivity. Conduct awareness programs down the level team -To know about IMS and other systems requirement and documents for Non-Conformity in section during internal and external audits or assessments. -Implementation of critical spares & consumable SOP without any defilement - Identify & arrange rectification of leakage points/unsafe points along with monitor & take corrective action for emission levels.
