Perl Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Perl Developer to join our dynamic team at a leading Healthcare SaaS company. Our entire ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and core business logic are rooted in Perl, making this role crucial for the maintenance and development of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Perl programming, with a keen understanding of how to manage and manipulate large data sets in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Perl Applications:
• Design, develop, and maintain Perl applications integral to our ETL processes and business logic.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Data Management:
• Handle large datasets, implementing processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Work closely with the data team to ensure data integrity and efficiency of data processing.
• System Optimization:
• Continuously identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Optimize the performance of backend systems for speed and efficiency.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Compliance and Best Practices:
• Ensure the application adheres to healthcare industry standards and regulatory compliance, particularly in data handling and security.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Technical Support and Documentation:
• Provide technical support, including root cause analysis and remediation of production issues.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong knowledge and working experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proven software development experience in Perl.
• Strong understanding of Perl programming and its nuances.
• Strong Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3) is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of healthcare data standards (such as HL7, FHIR) preferred.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
