Role: People Team Lead / HR Head
Location: Mumbai
Full-time, in-office role
Purpose
We're looking for a seasoned, tech-forward, and logic-driven Head of People to lead our People Team. This isn't a back-office HR gig, this is a strategic leadership role. You'll be responsible for evolving our People practices in a way that is operationally sound and aligned with business goals. You'll work directly with CXOs, business heads, and diverse talent across geographies and domains.
Roles And Responsibilities
- People Ops & Processes
- Own and lead the HR operations lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle events, contracts, audits, and compliance
- Build efficient and searchable systems for full-time employees, consultants, and freelancers
- Leverage tools (like ATS, Excel) to ensure clean, scalable workflows
- Strategy & Culture
- Be a business-first HR partner, understand OML's verticals and tailor People strategies accordingly
- Work closely with business and function heads on org design, resource planning, and role definition
- Champion a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and performance
- Data, Dashboards & Compliance
- Build real-time dashboards and reports on workforce metrics, engagement, attrition, and performance
- Lead internal audits, labor law compliance, and contract adherence.
- Stakeholder & Team Management
- Be a trusted advisor to CXOs, founders, and leaders
- Lead and mentor the People Team, fostering agility, clarity, and ownership
- Manage external vendors (consultants, legal advisors, tech platforms) as needed
Must-Haves For The Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of HR experience with at least 3 years as Head of HR or equivalent
- Have led HR for a company of at least 100+ employees across functions
- Hands-on with systems: Excel, HRMS, ATS tools, and analytics
- Strong operational thinking, organized to a fault, and tech-savvy
- Prior experience managing a mix of full-time and consultant/freelance workforce
- Business-minded: You always ask, What does this company do, and how does HR move the needle
- Experienced in audits, compliance, and statutory policies
Bonus If
- You've worked in entertainment, media, content, tech, or creative industries
- Experience with setting up and using HROne
- Experience with IT teams reporting into them
- You've built a people team from scratch or led major change/transformation projects
