PDF Remediation Specialist

This is a contract-based, remote position for a PDF Remediation Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring digital accessibility of PDF documents to meet compliance standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and modifying PDF documents for accessibility, applying appropriate tagging structures, conducting quality checks, and collaborating with other team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables. The role requires proficiency in working with accessibility tools and an understanding of accessibility best practices.

• Familiarity with PDF remediation tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, CommonLook PDF, or related technologies.
• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines like WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and standards such as PDF/UA and Section 508 compliance.
• Attention to detail with strong skills in proofreading, reviewing, and ensuring document quality.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote working environment.
• Ability to identify and rectify document accessibility issues, including proper tagging, alternative text, and interactive elements.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
• Previous experience in document remediation, accessibility, or a related field is a plus.
