Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll Operations

  • Independently run monthly payroll with 100% accuracy and within timelines.
  • Validate salary structures, attendance, leave, shift data, reimbursements, and variable inputs.
  • Ensure timely payroll closure, pay slip generation, and post-payroll reports.

2. Statutory Compliance

  • Calculate, deduct, and file TDS as per IT Act.
  • Manage complete compliance for PF, ESIC, LWF, including challan generation, payment, and return filing.
  • Handle statutory audits, notices, assessments, and liaison with government departments.
  • Ensure adherence to new Wage Code regulations and policy updates.

3. Labor Law & Legal Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of applicable labor laws: Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, and Shops & Establishment.
  • Implement changes in the payroll system as per statutory and regulatory amendments.

4. Payroll Accounting

  • Manage payroll provision accounting, JV posting, reconciliation of payroll GLs, and coordination with finance.
  • Handle full & final settlements, gratuity calculations, and statutory benefits.

5. HRMS & Employee Support

  • Resolve employee payroll queries through the HRMS helpdesk.
  • Support employees with tax planning, deductions, and statutory clarifications.
  • Ensure appraisal, increment, and promotion details are punched accurately in the payroll ERP.

6. Audits, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports, dashboards, and compliance trackers.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and strengthen governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, HR, Accounting, or related field.
  • 58 years of experience in end-to-end payroll and statutory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with PF, ESIC, LWF filings, TDS returns, and assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and wage code.
  • Experience in payroll ERPs (SAP / Oracle / GreytHR / Keka / HRMS tools).
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage confidential information.
