Key Responsibilities

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions. Drive Streamlined payroll process improvement and automation.
  • Facilitate and participate in governance process used for analysis and approval of payroll work requests and projects.
  • Coordinate with Outsourced Service Provider regarding all policies, programs and processes related to payroll and Time attendance
  • Assess the delivery impact of any HR Management Policy changes, regulatory or compliance changes may have on the service provider and BMS Payroll operations
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Interface with Total Rewards COE to identify and address any administrative needs related to global compensation and benefit programs. Leverage expertise to produce solutions that enable global consistency and standardization and facilitate exceptional performance
  • Proactively develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up-to-date on current trends and best practices
  • Interface with payroll and benefits vendors, as needed, to ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, major in accounting or finance is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years in team leader role as well as 7-9 years Payroll relevant business experience including experience with time and attendance.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong SAP Payroll technical expertise including integration points with Organizational Management and Personnel Administration
  • Strong project management, supervisory and leadership skills are very desirable.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose situations and create innovative solutions to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to see the big picture and to influence the actions of others through collaborative working relationships. Desire to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented, complex environment.
