Strategic Account Executive – Payroll

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 4–5 Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Strategic Account Executive – Payroll to join our Payroll Operations team. The ideal candidate should have strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, sound statutory and taxation knowledge, and the ability to manage customer deliveries while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of managing payroll operations with accuracy and within defined SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned client accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution while adhering to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Handle payroll-related customer and employee queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Process Full & Final (F&F) settlements, leave encashment, gratuity, bonus, and other employee payouts.
  • Perform income tax computations and ensure accurate payroll taxation.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory regulations including:
  • Provident Fund (PF)
  • Employee State Insurance (ESIC)
  • Professional Tax (PT)
  • Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)
  • Gratuity
  • Bonus
  • Leave Encashment
  • Stay updated with the latest payroll legislation, statutory amendments, and taxation changes.
  • Prepare and file e-TDS returns (online/offline) and generate Form 16 for employees.
  • Generate payroll reports, reconciliations, and MIS using Microsoft Excel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless payroll delivery and continuous process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Payroll Operations (Mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing and payroll lifecycle.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll taxation and statutory compliances.
  • Experience in F&F processing, taxation computation, and statutory deductions.
  • Working knowledge of e-TDS filing and Form 16 generation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Advanced Excel skills will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining high accuracy.
  • A collaborative team player with a level-headed, rational, and customer-centric approach.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience managing payroll for multiple clients or enterprise organizations.
  • Strong customer delivery mindset with focus on SLA adherence.
  • Comfortable interacting with customer SPOCs and employees to resolve payroll-related queries.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
