Role Overview:
The Payment Posting Associate, Senior Associate, or Specialistis responsible foraccurately recording payments and adjustments in the RCM system to ensure precise financial reconciliation. This role supports healthcare providers by processing payments from insurance payers and patients, resolving discrepancies, andmaintainingaccurateaccount balances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post payments and adjustments from insurance payers and patients into RCM systems.
- Reconcile payment batches with bank deposits and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
- Identifyand resolve payment posting discrepancies, such as underpayments or overpayments.
- Verify patient account balances and update records to reflectaccuratefinancial status.
- Collaborate with AR teams to address unpaid claims and denials.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer-specific guidelines.
- Generate reports onpaymentposting metrics and account reconciliation status.
- (Senior Associate/Specialist) Analyze trends in payment discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- (Specialist) Mentor junior team members and lead complex reconciliation tasks.
Requirements:.
- Knowledge of EOBs, medical billing, and payer policies.
- Proficiencyin RCM software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth,eCW) and MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- (SME) Proven ability to mentor peers and drive process improvements.
