Job Description Payment Operations Executive (Fintech)

Position: Payment Operations Executive

Location: Bangalore

Department: Merchant Operations / Payments

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payment Operations Executive to support the smooth functioning of our merchant onboarding, documentation, and banking operations. This role is execution-focused, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple operational processes in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMerchant Onboarding & KYC
  • Assist in onboarding new merchants by collecting and verifying documents.
  • Conduct basic KYC and compliance checks in line with RBI guidelines.
  • Ensure all merchant details are correctly captured in internal systems.
Documentation & Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate merchant documentation and ensure records are always updated.
  • Assist in periodic audits of merchant documents for compliance.
  • Support preparation of MIS and operational reports.
Merchant Operations
  • Handle routine merchant queries related to settlements, refunds, and reconciliations.
  • Support monitoring of daily transaction flows and flag anomalies.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior team members in a timely manner.
Banking & Partner Support
  • Coordinate with bank teams for settlement confirmations and operational queries.
  • Track status of settlement files and ensure timely closure.
  • Support in resolving chargeback and dispute cases.
Key KPIs
  • Accuracy of KYC & documentation (% error-free cases).
  • Merchant onboarding turnaround time.
  • SLA adherence for settlement and refund processing.
  • First-time resolution rate for merchant queries.
  • Timely escalation of issues to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 02 years of experience in fintech, banking operations, or payment processing (freshers with internships can apply).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
  • Good communication skills to handle merchants and bank partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of reconciliation tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic fintech environment.

This is best suited for junior hires who will execute processes (documentation, onboarding, reconciliations) and gradually grow into senior ops roles.
