Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain patch management processes and schedules for operating systems, applications, and network devices.
  • Coordinate patch testing, validation, and deployment across various environments (development, staging, production).
  • Use patch management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, SolarWinds, or ManageEngine to automate patch deployment.
  • Monitor and report on patch compliance and remediation status.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and security teams to ensure patches are applied without disrupting business operations.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize critical patches based on security advisories and risk assessments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patch management procedures, configurations, and audit logs.
  • Assist in vulnerability management efforts by integrating patch status into broader security programs.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, patch releases, and industry best practices.
  • Provide training and support to IT staff on patch management tools and processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in patch management or IT systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with patch management tools such as SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems patching processes.
  • Understanding of software lifecycle management and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
