We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Development Executive to join our team and be based at our client's office in Mumbai. In this role, you will be an integral part of all packaging development projects, working closely with the client's internal teams to deliver innovative, compliant, and cost-effective packaging solutions primarily within the food industry.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional looking to build a strong foundation in packaging development within a dynamic, client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end packaging development projects from concept and brief through to final production sign-off
- Liaise regularly with the client's R&D, marketing, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure packaging deliverables are met on time
- Research and evaluate food-grade packaging materials including flexible films, laminates, rigid plastics, glass, paper, and board
- Coordinate with packaging suppliers and vendors for sampling, testing, and approvals
- Maintain accurate project trackers, documentation, and material specifications
- Conduct packaging trials and report on performance, shelf life compatibility, and quality outcomes
- Ensure all packaging materials comply with relevant Indian food safety and packaging regulations including FSSAI and BIS standards
- Monitor industry trends in food packaging innovation and bring relevant insights to the team
- Assist in cost analysis and optimisation of packaging materials without compromising quality
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Material Science, or a related field
- 14 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in the food or FMCG sector
- Working knowledge of food packaging materials, printing processes, and packaging formats
- Familiarity with Indian food packaging regulations specifically FSSAI guidelines and BIS standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills you will be representing the team directly at the client's office and must be confident and professional in all interactions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Willingness to travel locally for supplier visits or factory trials when required
