Role Description

Title: OTC Apprentice (Order-to-Cash)

Team: OTC

Location: Bangalore

Reporting to: Manager – GBS Finance

Duration: 6 months

Qualification: MBA (Finance)

Primary Purpose of Role: You will play a vital role in supporting the Order-to-Cash (OTC) team, specifically focusing on the hygiene and accuracy of the company's financial records. Your primary focus will be to develop expertise in financial reconciliation, SAP ERP systems, and data-driven reporting to ensure that customer payments are accurately reflected and identified.

This apprenticeship will offer hands-on experience across key areas, including Historic Unapplied Cash (UAC) cleanup, SAP FEBA clearing, financial governance, and stakeholder communication.

By the end of the program, you will have built a strong foundation in global finance operations and the end-to-end OTC lifecycle within a Fortune 500 environment.

Key tasks & Learning path

1. Learning Dashboard Reporting & Data Analytics

  • Gain proficiency in building and maintaining Learning Dashboards to report on financial metrics and project progress.
  • Master MS Excel (Advanced formulas, Pivot tables) and MS Outlook to manage data cleanup for Historic Unapplied Cash (UAC) and Unidentified (UI) line items.

2. Gaining Customer Visibility on Open Line Items

  • Learn to clear open items within SAP (specifically FEBA modules) to provide the business with clear visibility on customer accounts.
  • Support the identification of unidentified cash entries and manage large datasets to ensure all incoming funds are applied to the correct customer invoices.

3. UAC & UI Governance

  • Understand the global standards and internal controls involved in UAC & UI Governance.
  • Learn how to maintain financial integrity by following strict governance protocols to minimize financial risk and aging of unapplied funds.

4. Manage Projects and Stakeholders

  • Develop Project Management skills by assisting in the coordination of finance-related cleanup projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to gather information required to resolve payment discrepancies and maintain data accuracy.
