Product Design

Develop 3D CAD models of splints (forearm, wrist, palm, immobilization splints) using SolidWorks / CATIA / Fusion / Creo.

Convert 2D sketches + clinical dimensions into functional parametric models.

Apply anthropometric data to design size variants (S/M/L/XL).

Biomechanics & Ergonomics

Apply wrist kinematics, load distribution, pressure points and range-of-motion principles.

Defing key dimensions (e.g., wrist extension angle 2030, palmar curvature, splint length).

Evaluate comfort, fit, ventilation, and off-loading areas.

Material & Process Engineering

Work with 3D printing (SLA/FDM) and medical-grade polymers.

Prepare design files for manufacturing (thickness, lattice, supports).

Testing & Validation

Conduct fit trials, strength checks, stiffness simulations (FEA optional).

Document observations and prepare DFM (Design for Manufacturing) updates.

Ideal Candidate:

B.Tech / B.E in Biomechanics / Industrial Design.

Understanding of human anatomy, joint mechanics, ergonomics.

Prior exposure to CAD or FEA is an advantage.

Interest in medical devices / orthotics / rehabilitation engineering.
