Organizational Change Manager (ERP Implementation Program) (Freelancing / Remote)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Organizational Change Manager to lead the people side of a multi-year, multi-country ERP implementation program. This role is critical in ensuring that organizational structures, processes, and behaviors evolve successfully alongside the new system.
You will define and execute the change strategy, drive stakeholder alignment, build adoption readiness, and guide business units through a complex transformation journey. This position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Change Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive change management strategy aligned with the ERP program roadmap.
- Define change vision, success criteria, and adoption milestones.
- Integrate change activities into the overall program plan.
2. Impact & Readiness Management
- Conduct detailed change impact assessments across functions, processes, and roles.
- Evaluate organizational readiness and identify adoption risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation and reinforcement plans.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and map key stakeholders across multiple countries and business units.
- Develop stakeholder engagement and sponsorship plans.
- Coach executive sponsors and business leaders to champion change.
4. Communication Management
- Design and deliver a structured communication plan covering milestones, benefits, and progress updates.
- Ensure consistent, clear messaging tailored to diverse audiences.
- Translate technical ERP concepts into user-friendly communication.
5. Training & Enablement
- Lead training needs analysis and coordinate curriculum development.
- Support the design of role-based training materials.
- Ensure end-user enablement prior to go-live.
6. Resistance & Adoption Management
- Facilitate workshops and interventions to address resistance.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and mindset shifts.
- Support post-go-live stabilization and sustained adoption.
7. Monitoring & Reporting
- Define and track change KPIs and adoption metrics.
- Establish feedback loops and continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Provide regular reporting to program leadership and sponsors.
Qualifications & Experience
- 510 years of experience in organizational change management, preferably within large-scale ERP or digital transformation programs.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-country, matrixed environments.
- Strong understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci, Kotter).
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging communication.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and training coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent facilitation and influencing skills.
- Prosci or other change management certifications are a plus.
